Instead of reading about me in third person, allow me to introduce myself — I’m Jessica, and I’m blessed to be the founder of Portalatin Law Firm. But more than that, I am a wife, mom, stepmom, daughter, sibling, businesswoman, and a woman of faith.
Full transparency… owning a business did not come easy to me. And at times, it still doesn’t.
There are so many moving parts that need to come together when you are running, a business that is not only successful, but one that you are proud of.
One where your team knows they have a valuable purpose.
One where you work with the intention of blessing someone else, and where your clients feel comfortable reaching out to talk about personal things. (Because let’s be real… when you are a business owner, business IS personal.)
I know how much time running a business can take. And I know how little it can leave for family time, and me-time. My goal is to give that time back to my clients, so they can continue to being the heart and soul of their businesses.
If you’ve made it this far down the page, thank you. I appreciate you being the kind of person who would take a moment to get to know me and understand what I am all about. I look forward to doing the same for you.

Hey there! I’m Lourdes Corzantes, but everybody calls me Lu or Lou. I’ve been answering to those nicknames since I was a little munchkin.
I’m a proud mom to an amazing 11-year-old kiddo. I am originally from beautiful Guatemala. My passion is indulging in food from all around the world, especially Japanese cuisine—I’m absolutely in love with it.
I studied Communication Sciences with a Specialization in Broadcasting and Voiceover.
I’ve worked with international companies since my teenage years, diving into customer service, technical support, legal assistance, and intake specialist roles. But here’s the twist: my heart truly belongs to being a mom.
I’ve got some hidden talents up my sleeve! I’ve been wielding paintbrushes and sketching away for years, dreaming of hosting my own local art exhibition one day.
But wait, there’s more! I’m on a mission to become a sign language interpreter in my country. Growing up surrounded by the deaf community, I fell head over heels for the idea that words aren’t the only way to express thoughts and feelings.
My mantra? Always do everything with love, and I make sure to apply it every single day.
Hello! My name is Mariana, I’m a Brazilian licensed attorney and I love how the world of Law works and how it can help people in their endeavors. I work with Corporate Law and Contract Law and earned my Master’s degree from Cornell Law School, where I improved my skills and gained a deeper understanding of the legal landscape.
On a personal level, I have a passion for new experiences and challenges, and I genuinely believe faith can move mountains. For me, travelling is a way of experiencing new cultures and learning from the diversity of people in the world. This is also why I love watching films, there is so much world to get to know.
I believe these experiences contribute a lot for my legal career and enhanced my ability to connect with clients and understand their unique challenges.
This is who I am and my approach is based on merging legal expertise with a business-oriented view. I hope we can connect soon and that together we can accomplish great results!
Proudly Venezuelan, I was born in the vibrant city of Caracas. Raised as the daughter of a military father, I had the fortune to travel to every corner of my beloved country, absorbing its diversity and cultural richness. From a young age, I explored various disciplines such as dance, karate, swimming, and music, actively participating in extracurricular organizations during my school years.
My passion for learning and serving others led me to engage in community service activities, providing educational support to children from underprivileged communities. This experience inspired me to pursue a career in law, where I found my true calling in the maritime field, leading me to specialize in international maritime law.
Determined to continue growing professionally, I completed my studies to become a university professor and obtained a Master’s in Corporate Law. My thirst for knowledge is insatiable, and I am always seeking opportunities to expand my horizons. Being part of the team at Portalatin Law Firm has become a cornerstone in my professional journey, providing me with the tools and the perfect environment to continue growing and evolving, teaching me to trust in my potential and harness it. This is why I decided to start pursuing my MBA.
Outside the academic realm, I am a passionate Potterhead (always). I love animals (especially bunnies), have an irresistible weakness for chocolate, and am madly in love with my beautiful family.
